April grants have been awarded! Thanks to the generous donors and OYH board members, we were able to fund over $59,000 in funds this month to Minnesota agencies in need!

Al Maa’uun (Minneapolis, MN) for $7,000 to replace their main cooler needed to store perishable foods and carry out their various food programs.

CAPI USA (Brooklyn Center, MN) for $4,500 for a new refrigerator to enhance CAPI’s capacity to consistently provide fresh product throughout the week while reducing the amount of fresh produce that must be thrown away due to limited refrigeration capacity.

Churches United in Ministry (Duluth, MN) for $4,118 to create a warm space in the shelter vestibule that people experiencing homelessness can access during the sub-zero winter temperatures and inclement weather.

Feeding Our Communities Partners (Mankato, MN) for $3,796 for warehouse equipment that will increase efficiency, allowing for the expansion of program services and additional youth served.

Frogtown Neighborhood Association (St. Paul, MN) for $2,400 for additional storage equipment to improve the quality of programs and service to homeless and hungry adults, families and children in the Frogtown Community.

Great River Family Promise (Elk River, MN) for $2,000 to provide adequate resources for people to prepare food and have a comfortable place to sleep.

Hallie Q. Brown Community Center (St. Paul, MN) for $3,100 for refrigeration to increase capacity improvements for perishables, produce and nutritious foods.

Joyce Uptown Food Shelf (Minneapolis, MN) for $2,475 for refrigeration to extend the shelf life and quality of produce and bakery items selected by food shelf clients.

Launch Ministry (Chaska, MN) for $5,000 for amenities to provide clients with additional services and better meals throughout the week.

Red Lake Homeless Shelter (Red Lake, MN) for $9,200 for refrigeration to store more food and provide clients with better balanced meals.

Servants of Shelter (International Falls, MN) for $5,500 to provide safe, warm and dry shelter to guests.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Twin Cities (Minneapolis, MN) for $2,200 for a commercial freezer to accept frozen meat donations as they become available.

United Community Action Partnership (Marshall, MN) for $4,000 for a commercial freezer to accept frozen meat donations as they become available at their Tracy Food Shelf.

Walker Area Food Shelf (Walker, MN) for $4,078 for refrigeration to allow bulk food purchases and help preserve fresh fruit and vegetables when in season.
