March Grants have been awarded! Thanks to our generous donors and OYH board members, we were able to have a quick turn around and award over $63,000 in funds this month to Minnesota crisis service agencies in need!

Hunger and Homeless Grant Recipients

$4,477 | Burnsville, MN
For a new refrigerator to provide more fresh produce, proteins, and other healthy foods to individuals and families facing food insecurity in Dakota County.

Advocates Against Domestic Abuse dba HOPE (Healing Opportunity Provided Equally)
$7,490 | Aitkin, MN
For seven new beds and a shower unit to increase their capacity and expand their services to more individuals fleeing from domestic violence in Aitkin county.

Emergency Community Help Organization (ECHO)
$7,500 | Mankato, MN
For a new three door commercial freezer to be able to display more frozen food at once and to be able to provide more food to families in need.

Ethel Gordon Community Care Center and Shelter
$2,800 | St. Paul, MN
For a new refrigerator, twin size beds and frames, and bed rails to be able to serve additional individuals fleeing from domestic violence and to provide a dignified living space.

Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul
$7,195 | St. Paul, MN
For a new refrigerator and freezer to serve more individuals facing food insecurity as well as being able to purchase food in bulk to save money.

Mora Food Pantry

For a new produce cooler to ensure that safe and healthy food is available for individuals and families facing food insecurity in Kanabec county.

New Creation Baptist Church (NCBC Food Shelf)
$7,000 | Minneapolis, MN
For two new commercial coolers and a commercial freezer to be able store and distribute more food to those in need.

NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center, Inc.
$7,851 | Minneapolis, MN
For a new reach-in freezer and food scale to be able to store, distribute, and weigh more food for those in need, while cutting down on wait times for food shelf clients.

Small Sums – At Home Group
$7,000 | St. Paul, MN
For monthly bus passes to help individuals experiencing homelessness get to and from work.

Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery
$2,000 | New Ulm, MN
For hotel vouchers to help provide emergency lodging for families experiencing homelessness.

The Salvation Army
$5,811 | Hibbing, MN
For a new freezer and refrigerator for the Hibbing Food Shelf to be able to increase their capacity to provide more healthy produce, dairy products, and frozen foods to food shelf clients.
