Open Your Heart is funded by people like you! OYH receives the majority of its donations from individuals making one time or reccurring donations and from employees giving as part of workplace giving campaigns.

Open Your Heart guarantees that no less than $0.87 of every dollar donated goes directly toward our program services. In general, a non-profit should not exceed an overhead ratio of greater than 35% – OYH’s is 13%.

Your donation to Open Your Heart helps meet the most basic human needs of food and safe shelter for people who are currently on the street, in shelters, and who are hungry. Open Your Heart ensures that front-line agencies throughout Minnesota have the tools, resources and infrastructure necessary to best serve those in need. In the past, an applicant was able to request funding for both the Education Fund and the Hungry and Homeless Grant within the calendar year. That is no longer the case. Each organization can apply to Open Your Heart for funding one time each year.
