Open Your Heart provided funding to Al-Maa’uun for a commercial freezer to be able to safely store perishable food items and continue their home meal and food box delivery program to youth, seniors, and people with disabilities in north Minneapolis.

Inspired by the teaching of the Holy Qur’an and housed in Masjid An-Nur, Minneapolis’ historic Mosque of the Light, Al-Maa’uun was formally incorporated in 2009 to partner with neighboring organizations, faith communities, and individuals to meet the needs of their neighbors in North Minneapolis. They provide a food-bank, hot meal program, out-of-school food program for youth, and a community garden among other services. In response to COVID-19 they are now providing 4,300 meals per week to nearly 300 households. Thank you Al-Maa’uun for all that you do for individuals and families in need in North Minneapolis!
