Open Your Heart is proud to highlight our grantee partner, Bountiful Basket Food Shelf. Thanks to generous supporters like you, Open Your Heart provided Bountiful Basket with funding toward the purchase of a new two-door stainless steel freezer for their food shelf in Cologne, Minnesota, a site which primarily serves rural families who live in a food desert and are struggling to meet their basic needs.

Bountiful Basket has been serving Chaska, Carver, Chanhassen, Victoria and the surrounding area for 15 years helping people and families with hunger relief.  New in July 2023, Bountiful Basket opened a second site in Cologne. This food shelf’s primary service area includes individuals and families living in the city of Cologne as well as those living in the Hancock, Benton, San Francisco, and Dahlgren Townships. Individuals from surrounding communities welcome as well. There are no income requirements to receive food assistance.

Bountiful Basket strives to ensure every individual has access to healthy and nutritious food through their grocery store-like experience.  They believe non-judgmental, compassionate experiences are key components as they serve their community.
