Open Your Heart recently provided CAER Food Shelf with funding toward a two-door reach-in, standalone freezer for the Kids Weekend CAER Package program. The program provides weekly, weekend food assistance to families with school-age children.
CAER’s Mission – Provide support and relieve hunger, together.
CAER’s Vision – Hunger is no longer a barrier to the health and well-being of people in our community.
CAER’s Values – Compassion, Respect, Integrity
Founded in 1979, CAER was established by 12 area churches to provide emergency food assistance to Elk River, Zimmerman and Otsego families in need. CAER is still supported by local churches as well as schools, civic and business organizations and individuals. They have all joined hands in a community effort to ensure that hunger is not a barrier to the well-being of people in our community. For more than 40 years, CAER has opened its doors to families and has reached deep into the community to provide healthy and nutritious food.
Thank you, CAER Food Shelf, for everything you do!
