With support from our generous donors, Open Your Heart provided Face to Face with funding to purchase a commercial-grade refrigerator for their SafeZone Food Pantry and Welcome Home Kits for youth experiencing homelessness. The refrigerator will have a major impact on Face to Face’s ability to address the food needs of youth. It will allow youth and in many cases their children, access to more healthy food options. Having a wider range of choices in the food pantry and therefore more control over their diet is empowering for young people. The Welcome Home Kits will also make a major positive impact on the youth’s housing journey. The kits are an important way to celebrate the milestone of getting housing and honoring young people’s hard work in navigating all the barriers they face. Face to Face supports youth experiencing homelessness ages 11 to 24 with health care, mental health services, and basic needs services and is the only organization in Ramsey County providing the array of services that youth need. Over 3,000 youth rely on Face to Face for food, clothing, medical care, counseling, and more every year.
