Happy Monday! Today’s Grantee Monday is about one of our recent Hunger and Homeless grant recipients, the ICA Food Shelf! Open Your Heart provided the ICA Food Shelf with funding for a new upright commercial freezer to be able to properly store and display frozen food options for food shelf guests.
Since 1971, ICA has been responding to the needs of their neighbors in seven communities in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. From its roots as a small food and clothing program located in a home in downtown Hopkins, ICA has grown to offer a variety of food programs and has added assistance with rent and utility bills, help securing employment, case management, and program offerings. Today, they serve 5,500 people annually and have nearly 750 volunteers assisting them in this work. Thank you ICA Food Shelf for all of the amazing work that you do!
