Open Your Heart provided the Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery with funding for hotel vouchers to help provide emergency lodging for families experiencing homelessness.
The Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery (SMNCN) was founded in 2017 as a safe and loving emergency shelter for children of families in crisis. SMNCN strives to reduce childhood abuse and neglect by sheltering children and strengthening families. Since opening its doors, SMNCN has provided more than 1,270 days of care to more than 200 individual children while providing children with more than 2,000 meals.
