With support from our generous donors, Open Your Heart provided The Bridge with funding towards outreach supplies to distribute through The Bridge Mobile Youth Outreach Center, impacting approximately 850 youth with early intervention services to prevent youth homelessness. Since 1970, The Bridge for Youth has pioneered innovative services and served as a model for effective programming for youth experiencing homelessness. Just a few weeks ago, The Bridge expanded outreach efforts to “meet youth where they are at” with the launch of mobile outreach. The Bridge Mobile Youth Outreach Center will prioritize meeting the immediate needs of BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and sexually exploited youth ages 10-21 in the Twin Cities and provide mobile intervention to empower youth in a post-pandemic world – meeting immediate basic needs, providing assessments, case management and, most importantly, connection – both through in-person 1:1 support, as well as virtually.
