Open Your Heart provided The Open Door with funding toward an Electric Pallet Jack Weighing Scale for use in their food rescue operations and Mobile Pantry execution.

The Open Door is a hunger relief organization dedicated to ending local hunger through access to healthy food. Through its collective programs, The Open Door serves more than 15,000 Dakota County residents each month, and distributes over 3 million pounds of food annually, 70% of which is fresh and/or perishable. Clients are able to access healthy food choices through a fixed-site food pantry in Eagan, multiple Mobile Pantry sites, the Mobile Lunch Box, and the Garden To Table program.

Acquiring an additional electric pallet jack with built-in scale will improve the efficiency of The Open Door’s food rescue operations which are carried out 5 days/week. They will be able to pick up more fresh and perishable food from partner grocery stores as well as load their trucks for Mobile Pantry deliveries across greater Dakota County.

Thank you, The Open Door Pantry, for everything you do!
