Happy Monday! Today’s Grantee Monday highlight is about one of our 2020 Education grantees, the Sanneh Foundation! Open Your Heart provided funding to the Sanneh Foundation to provide students identified as at-risk and homeless in St. Paul and St. Cloud public schools with personal care hygiene kits and snack packs.
The Sanneh Foundation, a Saint Paul, Minnesota-based 501(c)3 organization, established in 2003 by East Saint Paul native and current CEO, Tony Sanneh, was conceived to support community-based organizations and to assemble a supportive network to provide positive environments for urban youth to become thriving, productive adults. To help ensure academic success for the most at-risk of not succeeding academically, the Sanneh Foundation has built its reputation around a primary offering, the Dreamline program, where youth workers (Dreamline Coaches) connect with at-risk students as classroom assistants, tutors, and mentors (in-school) and during after school enrichment activities. Each year, 20+ Dreamline Coaches work with 1,200+ underperforming students in 10+ specified partnering schools.
