“On behalf of the entire coalition working on the Navigation Center and Hiawatha encampment, please accept our deep gratitude for your grant of $10K. It will help us keep the 150 guests warms and dry this winter as we work with them toward housing and family reconnections. We are so grateful for support like yours from across this generous community.”
What is the Navigation Center?
The Center is a low barrier 24/7 access shelter designed for people living in the Franklin Hiawatha encampment. It opened on December 11, 2018.
The Center has three main goals:
1. To provide a safe place for people to sleep overnight
2. To make this place a community that is as welcoming and dignified as possible.
3. To help end homelessness by doing whatever we can to help people find stable housing.
